Here are some photos of our skating excursion on Sunday! I'm proud to say that I didn't fall over and it was a really great experience to skate on the river with all those people- it was a wonderful atmosphere and so invigorating!

It must be very cold there, I have heard warnings not to skste or go on rivers/ponds etc in the uk.
It looks very magical particularly with the windmills in the background - were they working ones or are they converted to homes?

Sorry to take a while to reply to you both! It was really magical being there- actually pictures of people skating there was actually put on the internet as world news so it was the best place to skate in all of Holland! The windmills were built to drain the water from that particular area to make those rivers and canals, don't think they are working now but they are still maintained for their beauty but don't think anywone lives in them. Now alas all the ice has melted but the good thing is it isn't so cold! lots of love to you both.
